Forgive me, I seemed to have forgotten how to read. Blame tiredness and headache.

But yes, this seems like a good idea; I will certainly participate with Maxédri. I will also consider using Faljüdax on a later occasion, but I have to think about that still.

Yeah, I'm in.

Relay texts are typically a couple short paragraphs in length.

Yeah...sorry, but I'm not confident enough in my translating skills to do THAT.

Keyword here being "short". I'll probably use some (obscure) quote with few sentences as the text translated.

There's no fixed number of participants, more of a time limit. Not everyone checks the forums every day, and i want to give all interested people chance to participate.

So, at earliest, we'll start tomorrow, if there's no objections.

Is the poster supposed to give a whole grammar/dictioanary of his lang or should he make a "short edition" for the translator?

For the love of all things good in the world do not send your entire grammar!

Your torch should be as short as possible, including only the necessary information to translate the text—nothing more.

Then wouldnt it be too easy? I mean, if the torch is all
blah - word
wut - ending
and the text is only
blahwut blahwut blah blahwut blah blah blahwut blahwut blah
with some more blahs and wuts

Actually, I think I'll still be competing in the end.

I can always make shit up if I have no clue WTF the guy sent was.

As someone who has participated in these things many times, I can vouch that minimal torches do not make things boring. The point of a relay is not to be difficult, but to be interesting. Adding irrelevant information that you never actually use to translate the text just so that you'll have to sift through it in order to find the useful stuff does not make the process more interesting, only more difficult. Basically, it's busywork, and nobody likes that.

would everyone be ok with starting tomorrow (30th July) at noon GMT? The participant has 48 hours to translate the torch and send it to the next link, or, if they've changed their mind about participating, just send the torch to the next link.

Maybe you could give a longer time period to translate the text. Like a week?

That's going to make for a reeeeally slow torch. 48 hours is the usual turn-around time, but I've seen relays do 5 days instead.
