Certainly, as an American, I'm not of Her Maj's subjects.

But she has certainly understood what "duty" means (and that must suck certain days -- (One more ribbon-cutting,and I swear, I'll blow my brains out! -- and yet she does it anyway, for country and realm (as understood at the time)).

Whether I, as a non-subject to Her Majesty, thinks this is an obsolete institution (and I don't -- the will of the UK electorate, so be it ), is immaterial. I truly dread her passing. It will be a redefining moment -- obviously on historical levels, but personally . May I survive it -- I was a mess after Diana and the Queen Mother ( and those weren't even moments of monarchy (the Queen Mother also fully understood "duty" ). And did hers.

(I've been having to make up compounds for some of these linguistics-related terms on the fly because O Kanã as of yet doesn't have any proper vocabulary for it. That will change in the future but these ad-hoc creations will serve for now).
