You mean "covfefe"?jimydog000 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2020 05:28 In one of my conlangs bilmuri means god, from Bill Murry. dami means queen from Dami Im. And I think I made the word covefe into some rude word, but I can't remember what.
I meant I made that into covefe because of phonotactics.
Oh, OK. /vf/ is a rather odd cluster, anyway.
I personally think that of course, everyone can design their conlang as they please, especially if it's a perslang. Then, I think there is a gigantic difference in making fun of a mighty, wealthy politician for their actions vs. making fun of a minority for their existence, but you do you.
I thought the offensive part was the thing about a word derived from "straight" meaning "stupid or rude person", presumably being a reference to heterosexual people, not the Trump thing.
A reminder not to engage with a post that has been noted (in this case by both the OP and a mod) as likely to offend. Doing so just increases the chances of a flame war.

No worries! Pretty much topics of real life religion, real life politics, your sex life. Basic stuff that can be considered needlessly inflammatory (or needlessly tmi) by folks in the forum. Somewhere around there is a thread where you can mention these things about yourself (I think it's called "About You" or something). Try to keep that kind of stuff there, please!rainbowcult wrote: ↑17 Oct 2020 20:32Oh, sorryDormouse559 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2020 05:06Hi rainbowcult, just a reminder that in the House Rules we ask that users not post things they know will offend others. My first thought wasKhemehekis wrote: ↑29 Mar 2021 21:31I don't get this one. Does it have something to do with gladiators, or the Everglades?
GLADOS, from the popular video game Portal
Never heard of it.LinguistCat wrote: ↑29 Mar 2021 23:27GLADOS, from the popular video game Portal
A lot of memes were started by Portal, like "The cake is a lie" and a few others. There's even a song, "Still Alive" that was fairly popular online for a while after 2007. Probably just not your time?Khemehekis wrote: ↑29 Mar 2021 23:30 All you guys keep name-dropping video games and animes I've never even heard of, and then once one of you have mentioned it, all these other people join in the conversation as if they've heard of it too! Huh.
