[Conlang Magazine Guideline] (can be editted according to participants' suggestions)
Phase
This collab shall be run in 2 phases. Participants post at the beginning of each phase to declare their interest. Phase 1 is an individual phase, where you will eventually decide on your entire submission and its length. Phase 2 deals with integration of parts, such as the front cover, table of contents, editor page, arrangement of articles etc.
If you are no longer interested in the collab, then you just don't declare yourself during the beginning of Phase 2. No commitments, guaranteed.
Language
Only languages without an established magazine are allowed, ie conlangs.
Other languages might be used only in the table of contents, editor page and/or the front cover.
Topic
Any topic is allowed, such as (con)world news, business, science, technology, nature, travel, culture, lifestyle, entertainment, sports, stories etc. You can choose to write in the context of irl, altworlds or conworlds.
Conscript
If your conlang has a conscript, then it should be written in that conscript, unless you don't have the facility to do so.
If your conlang has optional or multiple conscripts, you can choose any 1 of them.
Length
Let's aim for 20+ pages in this magazine, including the covers and ads.
Participants can submit as many articles as they want, with no length limits.
If there are 10 participants, that means everyone only submits 3 pages to reach that goal, cool.
Ads
Graphical ads can be embedded into your article or as a complete page by itself, written in a conlang. Ads form 25~50% of all content in most magazines anyway.
Format
There is no standard to ensure consistency. You are free to set your own physical/pixel dimensions, font size, colour scheme and/or other page formatting for now.
If you want, you can band together with other members for a unified look, or you can even declare your specifications for others to see.
Page numbering
You can have page numbers in a natlang or conlang or none at all. Pages will only be officialised during Phase 2, but you can play around with the settings first.
Rejection
All articles are accepted by default. If any 1 participant is dissatisfied with any 1 other article/ad, then we shall go to a majority vote for rejection.
Magazine name
The participants shall collectively decide on the magazine name, which will appear on the front cover, of course.
Authorship
You can provide your real name, username or the con-writer's name. Moreover, you can "separate" the name of the contributor vs name of article "writer", if you want.
Copyright/left
Each article will have its own creative license, just state whichever you want, ranging from standard copyright to creative commons.
Translation
Translations into a natlang is not required, both during and after the magazine production. Bilingual side-by-side translations are allowed, if you are using this format for your article.
Accessibility
This collab is not just for CBB forum members, so anyone from other conlang communities can also contribute, it is encouraged. However, I don't have conlang memberships elsewhere, so the submission has to somehow make its way here.
Leadership
There is no de-facto main leader for this collab atm. If anyone would want all the duties and responbilities (think of the honour!), feel free to take it from me lol
Success
If this collab fails, you can at least still keep your article for other future uses.
Hints
Tip: Add pictures to your article. Magazines are filled with pictures and colours, and they help add length to your article too.
Phase 1
At the end of phase 1 (somewhere in March), you should have already finished:
* Your article, and ads if any, without page numbers.
* A short paragraph or 2 about the contributor (irl/altworld/conworld) with an avatar, as well as a description/blurb about the conlang (you can re-use the one from the relay). This will be displayed on the editor page.
