Because they're derived from earlier forms, much like mother, father, brother, and all the wh-words are. They thus at least have some objective internal history to them, no matter how opaque they appear to the speakers themselves.

The words having /mb/ could suggest a shared origin. But from an internal history point of view, it just feels like an individual's overuse of the /b/ phoneme. And not even an organic patterning tendency like people choosing/making certain words sound similar because they're often said together like numbers.

Yes! The ancient philosophers created words for each power of ten from one (1) through a trillion (1,000,000,000,000). They then created words for each power of a thousand from a quadrillion through a septillion, and gave them all -iska names.

While tryna figure out what to do about adjectives and whether they should be more nounlike or more verblike, I came up with a pattern fromwhich to turn nouns into verbs and those verbs into adjectives:

sağilna "I am old" > sağğalna "I make old" > sağğalum/sağğalim "old"
damimna "I am heavy" > dammamna "I make heavy" > dammamum/dammamim "heavy"
zūlna "I am red, I am soil" > zāwalna "I make red, I make into soil" > zāwalum/zāwalim "red, dirty"

zeggim "wheel" > zaggagna "I make round" > zaggagum/zaggagim "round"
dambum "slave, domesticated animal" > dammabna "I enslave" > dammabum/dammabim "enslaved"
lumbum "woman, wife" > lammabna "I make a woman, I take for a wife, I feminize" > lammabum/lammabim "female, feminine"
rēbim "man, husband" > rēʾebna "I make a man, I take for a husband, I masculinize" > rēʾebum/rēʾebim "male, masculine"

rēbim sağğalim "old man"
rēbim dammamim "heavy man"
rēbim dammabim "enslaved man"
rēbim lammabim "feminine man"

lumbum sağğalum "old woman"
lumbum dammamum "heavy woman"
lumbum dammabum "enslaved woman"
lumbum rēʾebum "masculine woman"

Philosophers. Always messing about. Is there any difference in meaning or usage between the -m forms and the -iski forms?
Quhat's a quintijillion? And as Junior supposedly asked, how many is a brazillion?
It's really really a lot! It's squillions of squillions times brazillions of brazillions!

As I understand it, -m forms are for ordinals and -iski for fractions. Khemehekis said thus clearly!

WeepingElf is right. And as for numbers like squillion and brazillion . . . there are three words in Kankonian equivalent to "zillion", "jillion", "gazillion", and the like: dradriska, dradruda, and pankuda.

Decided that numbers are nouns and they are mass/uncountable nouns, so they are always grammatically singular

Cardinally:
formula: numeral of nouns
tibis śimā = one of houses
śidiṭ śimā = two of houses
ṣabās śimā = four of houses
tuğut śimā = six of houses
naḫar śimā = nine of houses
ḫarāṭ śimā = twelve of houses

Compound numerals
ḫarāṭ śimā ē tibsum = twelve of houses and one = thirteen houses
ḫarāṭ śimā ē śiṭṭum = twelve of houses and two = fourteen houses
ḫarāṭ śimā ē ṣabāsum = twelve of houses and four = sixteen houses
ḫarāṭ śimā ē tuğtum = twelve of houses and six = eighteen houses
ḫarāṭ śimā ē naḫrum = twelve of houses and nine = twenty one houses
Or (usually for numbers beyond tens):
ḫarāṭum ē tibis śimā = twelve and one of houses = thirteen houses
ḫarāṭum ē śidiṭ śimā = twelve and two of houses = fourteen houses
ḫarāṭum ē ṣabās śimā = twelve and four of houses = sixteen houses
ḫarāṭum ē tuğut śimā = twelve and six of houses = eighteen houses
ḫarāṭum ē naḫar śimā = twelve and nine of houses = twenty one houses
muñ śimā ē tibsum = 144 of houses and one = 145 houses
muñum ē ḫarāṭ śimā ē tibsum = 144 and twelve of houses and one = 167 houses

As fractions:
formula: numeral of numeral
tibis tibsam = a whole, one of one
tibis śiṭṭam = a half, one of two
tibis ṣabāsam = a quarter, one of four
tibis tuğtam = a sixth, one of six
tibis naḫram = a ninth, one of nine
tibis ḫarāṭam = a twelfth, one of twelve

Perhaps a definiteness distinction:
tibis ḫarāṭ waṣāḫā = a twelfth of the apostles, one of twelve of some apostles
tibis ḫarāṭ waṣāḫāli = one of the twelve apostles, one of twelve of the apostles

I have just received the newest list of the 30,000 most common English words from my friend. The latest list is based on a corpus of 175 million words.

The words that are on this list but weren't on the last list should help me expand Kankonian's lexicon some more.

I just googled "madlad" to find out what it means. Interesting word.

From Urban Dictionary:
Urban Dictionary wrote:A Mad lad is somebody who does something extreme, like trying to get inside jokes into the urban dictionary.
U/Wanja01, a mad lad, tries to get himself into the urban dictionary and also reddit.

Just converted my Old English to Kastixex sound changes to a format readible by Lexurgy!

I appreciate and have used SCA2, but I like the options and power provided by Lexurgy.
Visit my website for my blogs and information on my conlangs: http://grwilliams.net/ It's a work in progress!
