I think you have mistaken me for the topic.
I assure I haven't. I merely pointed out that Sano doesn't really have a basis for his nitpicking.
"There is no water in this bucket except for these 3 gallons."
vs.
"There are only 3 gallons in this bucket."
Try again. A less direct way of saying something still ain't a contradiction. In fact such a phrasing just might be preferable under certain circumstances, something needless nitpickers tend to overlook.
"Island A is uninhabited. Island B is unihabited. Island C is uninhabited. Island D is uninhabited.... Island Q is uninhabited ... Island V is uninhabited.... Island Z, hey, that's inhabited."
In such an instance it would in fact be a great timesaver to merely say they're all uninhabited except for the last one.
