Dude, just go to wiktionary, enter a serbo-croat word of Slavic origin, and then click on the hyperlink that's labelled "Serbo-Croatian words inherited from Proto-Slavic" (or something very similar).
I dunno how this got somewhat heated so fast. The link to the Categories is on the very bottom of the page, and I don't think many people are very good at traversing Mediawiki's namespaces. Really no reason to flame someone who's just looking to learn; we were all noobs once.
Dude. If you think that someone saying "dude" on the internet constitutes a "heated flame", I can only be envious your experiences of the internet to this point.
But for what it's worth, while I encourage learning and try to support it, there's a difference between looking to learn and looking to be told something. Ultimately, learning has to involve a degree of personal responsiblity.
I've worked hard to find things out; I appreciate that it's not always easy. And on this board, people repeatedly ask questions that seem very easy to answer, and I think 'oh, well, everyone misses something some time' (I know there have been questions I've asked in the past that others have probably found easy to answer), and 'well it's nice to have a conversation maybe if I chip in a little others will also contribute' and write a big long answer (which often involves me taking time and going and finding things out, or at least double-checking things)... and the person asking the question never fucking says thank you or engages with what I've said (even just to say 'sorry that's not really what I was looking for') and just asks another question instead as though I'm just a new function on Alexa. And god forbid I ever point out where they can get the information themselves next time because oh, no, unless you actually draw a picture of the specific page with big arrows on it they can't be expected to find it how dare I assume that, I mean no, don't I understand that to see that link they'd have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page
I mean how could I expect that level of work or curiosity from anybody, top of the page or get out. And if that provokes a "dude" then, dude, that basically makes me Vlad the Impaler, how could I, that's practically assault...
[I'm not trying to depict myself as the big imparter of knowledge around here; I'm aware that others reply just as often, and often in a much more informed way; I'm just talking about my own experiences here]
