What if your conpeople uses a different date division system? (Agyonnar uses a 29-day "week.")

That sounds awfully like a month, so I'd do it like 'Winter solstice will be on day 21 of the week this year'

I would use what ever the shortest day of the year is. That is what Winter Solstice is. Apply your conpeople's system to figure it out.

Does it matter? I deviate from the norm and translate for this world. It exists to...

Or does it?
What are Klingon speakers doing? They are engaging in intellectually stimulating language play. They are enjoying themselves for languages sake, art for art’s sakes. And like all committed artists, they will do their thing, critics be damned.

:tan: Swahili:

Perhaps not surprisingly for an equatorial language, there is no word for solstice. There also isn't really a dedicated superlative - you just basically say "more than all".

Mwaka huu, siku iliyo na kipindi kifupi zaidi cha nuru ya mchana kuliko siku zote mwakani itakuwa Jumanne.
