However, did you listen to the YouTube video I linked at the beginning? "Lernt" for "lernen" is intentional. In the original quote, President Bush asks, "Is our children learning?", where the correct English would be "Are our children learning?", since "children" is a plural subject noun. The idea is to translate Bush's solecism.
