What kind of travel is it where you climb into the bucket of a trebuchet and get shot out? Or does that not count as "core vocabulary" because not enough people would actually ever do it?

Hmmm, I have a section for war-and-conquest verbs. The word "troops" goes under the CIVICS AND INSTITUTIONS category, as do "army" and "navy", so war-related nouns might fit there.

Would circus acts like Human Cannonball fit into the core anywhere?
If not Human Cannonball exactly, what about others -- tight-wire bicycling, trapeze, etc.? Acrobatics and aerobatics? Lion-taming? Dancing bears?

This kind of stuff would match the ACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT category. Trapeze, at least. Acrobat and lion tamer would go under PEOPLE.

Maybe it's connected to the Romace word form <va> 'aller' instead.

It's not a typo, it's a word that was invented in Lehola Interplanetary English (LIE) to describe Kankonian grammar.

In Kankonian if a verb like "start", "stop", "continue", etc. is used with another verb, the particle va will come between them.

Is *aitzarten va hesi.
1sg begin-PST VA-PARTICLE speak
I began to speak.

These kind of verbs are called "vai" in Kankonian, from the particle "va" plus the adjectivizing suffix -i. In English the word is translated as "vaic".

Since in Terran English there was no pree:xisting word for this type of verb, I borrowed the Kankonian terminology as the name of this category.

I have a dilemma in my LCV. Currently one portion of the People section of my list reads:

child
little girl
little boy
kid (children and teens inclusive)
teen-ager, teen, adolescent
girl
boy
youth (young people collectively)
twentysomething

Should I change it to:?

child
girl (female child)
boy (male child)
kid (children and teens inclusive)
teen-ager, teen, adolescent
girl (young woman)
boy (young man)
youth (young people collectively)
twentysomething

I can't tell, because in English some words are used both for a person and for a relationship.
For instance "child" is used both for a person of a certain age-range, and for the relationship of "offspring".

How do you separate out, for instance, the concept "female adult human" from the concept "female spouse"?
In French "femme" means both of those meanings.

In the LCV, "child" (prepobescent person) and "woman" are listed under People, and "child" (reciprocal of parent) and "wife" are listed under Family.
