1. Gender: Let's go with male.[1]
2. Sexual orientation: Probably asexual.
3. Handedness: Right-handed.
4. Nationality: American, but raised in various countries around the Lesser Antilles. Currently living in Illinois.
5. Ethnicity: White, mostly Irish (mother dearest qualifies for citizenship, but I do not) and Czech.
6. Neurotype: Sensory processing disorder, probably some undiagnosed developmental thing along the lines of ADD.
7. Health conditions and physical disabilities: None.
8. Glasses: Yup.
9. Facial hair: Someday.
10. Body type: Average / rather skinny / can't do a push-up.
11. Subculture: Steampunk and whatever variety of 'nerd' applies to someone in five tabletop campaigns.
12. Pets: A cat. Hermit crabs for years, but not currently.
13. Religion: Agnostic polytheist. (I don't know if there's a god, but if so, I expect there's more than one.)

[1] Gender valid only at time of purchase. Offer void where prohibited. Some restrictions may apply.

Thanks to CivilixXXX for his answers . . . and I just noticed something mindblowing.

25 people have taken the survey so far, on this board, and not one of them listed his or her nationality as Swedish!

What are the odds of that? [o.O]

I assume you could find more in the "You" thread which only goes back to 2014 now (hell, I think I've posted in there about three or four times [:P] ). There's some overlap, but not much.

And now... to answer these questions [:P]

Gender: cis-male

Sexual orientation: Bisexual

Handedness: Right-handed in almost all regards (we tried writing with out non-dominant hands the other day at work... turns out I write "mirrored" when using my left hand, which is interesting)

Nationality: British, specifically North Yorkshire

Ethnicity you primarily identify with: White British

Neurotype Somewhere on the Asperger's side of things, and a fairly strong tendency towards depression and anxiety which appears to be genetic.

Health conditions and physical disabilities: None, really.

Do you wear glasses? Yep. Short-sighted... terribly short-sighted (holding my own hand at arms length, my hand is blurry)

Facial hair: I don't remember the last time I shaved [:P]

Body type: Overweight, at 5'7" and 16st. Unfortunately I seem to eat when I'm bored, but have no motivation right now to do anything.

Subculture: Metalhead + Nerd

Species/breed of pets: 3 bearded dragons, 1 royal python, 1 leopard gecko

Religion: No religion, more or less agnostic atheist.

Anyway:

1. Female
2. Not sure
3. Right-handed
4. Israeli (I have a German citizenship but have never lived there so I don't count it)
5. Jewish; family originaly came from Russia, Germany and I think also Romania
6. A mild sensory processing... thing and social anxiety
7. Nothing that I know of
8. No glasses
9.Luckily, no [:P]
10. Avarage on the thin side, not athletic at all
11. I don't even know what some of the example subcultures are. I'm kind of a general nerd who likes science and history and weird useless facts and fictional worlds. If birders are a subculture, than I'm also that :)
12. A very old cat at my parents' house (where I am right now) and no pets in my small student appartment.
13. Agnostic. I do celebrate some holidays but more as a culture and family thing

Wondering who's the most and least stereotypical for a conlanger? Here are the results (for the 29 respondents we have so far)!

I've arranged us all from least stereotypical to most stereotypical. This was my methodology.

The archetypal conlanger's response counted as a 2 (or, on the subculture question, 3). The "society's norm" response, in most cases, counted as a 0. In-between/"other" answers counted as a 1.

Breaking it down question by question:

Cismale was 2 points, cisfemale 0 points, and anything else 1 point. This one was a bit of the twist of the overarching, guiding scoring principle, because straight White MALES have the easiest time in Western society, but most conlangers are cismales, and at least among humans, women are the more likely gender to be neurotypical and "normal", un-conlangerly, in other words.

Gay was worth 2 points, and straight worth 0 points. Bisexual, asexual, non-binary/transgender, or questioning was worth 1 point.

Right-handed was worth 0 points and left-handed 2 points. Ambidextrous or cross-handed was worth 1 point.

As for nationality, Western countries (including just about anywhere considered Europe) were worth 2 points. Places like Russia were worth 1 point. Countries like China or Argentina were worth 0 points.

For ethnic identification, I gave out 2's to two types of responses, reflecting the bimodal norm among conlangers. Continental Europeans who identified with the usual ethnicity of their nation (Poles who identify as Polish, Spaniards who identify as Spanish, Germans who identify as German, etc.) got 2 points, as did people in Anglosphere countries who simply identified as a generic White American, or White Brit, or White Australian, or whatever. At the other end were "minority" groups (except for Jewish, Armenian, Spaniards and Portuguese from Europe, or the Uralic groups), like Chinese, Mexican, African-American, Somali, Filipino, Arab, or Argentinian -- these were worth 0 points. In the middle, 1 point went to people who identified as Jewish, Armenian, Finnish or Estonian or Saami, but not being from Finland/Estonia/Lapland, people who identified as Spaniard or Portuguese but weren't from Spain or Portugal, as well as a lot of strictly White responses: the American who identifies as German or Italian or Swedish or Polish, the Scot who identifies as Italian, the Serbian who identifies as English, the Frenchman living in Vietnam, etc.

For neurotype, Asperger's and other ASD's were worth 2 points. Neurotypical was worth 0 points. People who didn't have an ASD but had other forms of neurodivergence (like ADD or bipolar) as well as those who were sure they were neuroAtypical got 1 point.

For health conditions and physical disabilities, asthma, allergies, and other autoimmune disorders were worth 2 points. People who didn't have any of those but one or two or three other health conditions scored 1 point. People with none scored 0 points.

People who wear glasses scored 2 points. People who never wear anything to correct their vision scored 0 points. People who wear contacts, or only wear their glasses when driving, scored 1 point.

People with beards or goatees or who never shave anywhere scored 2 points (we all know conlangers are bearded). People who are clean-shaven scored 0 points, including the ladies. Guys who have moustaches or sideburns or a soul patch but no beard scored 1 point, as for people who sometimes shave and sometimes don't.

People who are overweight or obese scored 2 points, while people who are average or muscular/mesomorphs scored 0 points. Underweight or fluctuant people scored 1 point.

Subculture allowed a range of 4 values instead of the usual 3. More than half of the conlangers who responded to this survey were nerds! Almost everyone checked off either nerd, metalhead, loner, or "no subculture", with only a few outliers (such as yours truly). Nerd was valued at 3 points, while people who didn't check off nerd but did say they were metalhead, loner, or no subculture/too old for subcultures scored 2 points. Preppy, jock, redneck, and prep/Aberzombie were worth 0 points each. Anything else -- slacker, goth, hippie, hipster, emo, beatnik, seapunk, surfer, hip-hop, VSCO girl, sadboi, even expat -- was worth 1 point. Even though he included "nerd" among other subcultures, I also gave KaiTheHomoSapien 1 point on this, because he had such an interesting, large, and wide array of responses that are seldom seen among conlangers.

Pets! People who have or used to have cats, the stereotypical conlanger's familiar, scored 2 points. People with only dogs, America's favorite pet, scored 0 points. People with no pets, or who didn't have cats but had at least one pet besides a dog, like Sangi's reptiles, scored 1 point.

Finally comes religion. Atheists, so ubiquitous on the Web, scored 2 points, while those who were Protestant, Anglican/Episcopalian, or Catholic, or an unspecified form of Christian, scored 0 points -- the norm in the West. Everything else -- agnostic, deist, Mormon, Orthodox Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Unitarian, Buddhist, Hindu, Baha'i, Scientologist, Raëlian, ECKANKAR, ignostic, Rastafarian, Pastafarian, Wiccan, or even Kiwikami's agnostic polytheist -- scored 1 point.

So that's how I scored it. Here's what we all scored:
