Oh! I'm very sorry, I made the mistake of omitting it from the parameters, I'll go back and add it - for WALS Chapter 7: Glottalized Consonants, the language falls into the category "Ejectives only" - meaning no implosives or glottalized resonants. I'll go back and make that explicit. So to be accepted this inventory would have to change the /ɓ/ to something else - arguably it could just be /b/, since that would not technically be a voicing contrast, given that there's no /p/. Again, my apologies.

No problem, I'll change the /ɓ/ to a /b/ then.

Okay, here are the results for Round 7!

Chapter 10: Vowel Nasalization - B) Contrastive nasal vowels absent

In Round 8, we will be voting on the submitted consonant inventories! As with the vowel quality inventories, they will be listed without usernames here, but the user who submits the winning inventory will be credited when the round is over. Everyone may vote for two consonant inventories - or just one - but you may not vote for the same one twice.

A)
/m n/
/p t tʼ ʃ t͡ʃʼ k kʼ ʔ/

B)
/t tʼ k kʼ ʔ/
/s h/
/m n r/

C)
/p t k k'/
/m n/
/s/
/w r j/

D)
/p p' t t' k k'/
/m n/
/s/
/j/

E)
/p t t' k k'/
/m n/
/s h/
/j/

F)
/p t t' k~k'/
/m n/
/s h/
/j w/

G)
/p t tʼ k kʼ/
/s h/
/m n/
/r/

H)
/t k kʼ/
/s h/
/m n/
/j w/
/r/

I)
/t k kʼ ʔ/
/s h/
/m n/
/w/
/r/

J)
/b t k k’/
/m n/
/ʋ s h/

K)
/m n/
/p t t' k k'/
/s/
/j/

L)
/m~w n/
/p t t' k k'/
/s s'~ts'/
/r/

M)
/n/
/t k k' ʔʷ ʔʲ/
/ɸ s~ʃ s'~ts' h/
/r/

I don't think anyone submitted any duplicates...though it comes close!

Voting will close at 5:00 PM GMT (12 noon US Eastern time) on Wednesday, January 20.

I would also like to vote for A and M, but M has eleven consonants even though the maximum is ten. Could we maybe agree to remove a consonant from it or in some other way remedy this?
The accusative of <emo> is <eminem>. :lat:

Oh! Wow, thanks for pointing that out! Somehow I totally missed that.

Well, it's my fault for not checking the submissions more carefully, and votes have already been cast for it, so it can stay on. And I'll count your vote for it. But if M wins, what we'll do is decide (in one way or another) how to reduce the inventory to 10 (perhaps by collapsing the palatal/labialized glottal stops, or by deleting /h/, or whatever).

Whoops, mea culpa; if it means anything, I believe I hadn’t meant to include /h/

Okay, the results for Round 8 are in! And...we have a three-way tie! Rather than cast a tie-breaker vote, I would prefer to hold a runoff - I feel I already have enough influence on the language creation process as it is.

Our next step was going to be something quite interesting - tone and stress. But I think that should wait until we've decided on the consonant inventory. But, also, I want to provide something else to vote on to keep Round 9 interesting. So in addition to the consonant inventory runoff, we're going to skip ahead to something fun.

Since there are only three inventories to choose between, each user will get to cast just one vote.

Consonant inventory runoff

A)
/m n/
/p t tʼ ʃ t͡ʃʼ k kʼ ʔ/

C)
/p t k k'/
/m n/
/s/
/w r j/

H)
/t k kʼ/
/s h/
/m n/
/j w/
/r/

Chapter 131: Numeral bases
A) Decimal
B) Hybrid vigesimal-decimal
C) Pure vigesimal
D) Other base
E) Extended body-part system
F) Restricted

See the WALS page for more info about these categories.

Voting will close at 5:00 PM GMT (12 noon US Eastern time) on Wednesday, January 27.

I prefer to not be referred to with masculine pronouns and nouns such as “he/him/his”.
