...you.... want to know where to post pairs of words that aren't related, don't sound similar and have totally different meanings?

errh.... do you have a particular reason why you want to post such pairs?

That box on the chart says "nothing interesting" ─ because indeed, there is nothing interesting about such pairs.

I mean, like what?
Portuguese estação "season" and Arapaho koonebete’e "do I dance?"
That would be very strange.

Hence my confusion why you're asking.

I'm not sure if Üdj is asking anything. I could be wrong, of course, but it seems to me like the original post was intended to serve as a guide.

...well then in that case I really don't know what this thread is for, or why Udj is the one posting it (it seems both superfluous and misleading as a 'guide', since there is no 'true cognates' thread to post in, nor a 'nothing interesting' one). But whatever, I guess.

It is meant as a guide, since I have noticed people posting in the wrong threads. I've updated the wording on the first post; of course if this thread seems useless I can delete it.

I had no confusion as to why he was posting this thread; I remember v01dw4lk3r's recent post here, for instance.

Edit: Maybe Üdj should link to the threads in the OP?

I think the problem with this being a guide is that it covers an incredibly niche issue that only applies to two threads on the entire board. It is not linked to, or referenced by, the relevant threads, meaning that in a few months time this guide will be buried under new posts and no-one will ever find it. This is what makes the guide feel (as Salmoneus said) kind of superfluous.

I see. Thank you! The thread can be deleted if you want.

I thought it was a fun chart [:D] , partly because the issue is pretty minor.
