...I'm really stumped but it certainly doesn't seem European?
Any help or suggestions gratefully acknowledged

Thanks for your swift reply!

It's from a video shot during our music rehearsal in an unfamiliar church And I used AI to strip out all the music so as to make it clearer

… Hope you can help!

Is it alright to ask about the location, denomination, etc. of said church, or any info about its attendees?

...er- sure!

If thats important then of course:

It was recorded in a part of Liverpool UK known as "Chinatown"
Less than 20 people present about six weeks ago

I take it you recognise, at least the language?🤞

From the style and design, it doesn't quite scream European to me either. The color scheme and details seem more characteristic of another region.

I'm confused...you were able to find out (i assume by asking someone there) the name of the song, but not what they were singing it in? Were you given any information about that church before or after you went there with a video camera?

I've looked the recording over.
I apologize, but I'm not sure what it is. Maybe it's a kind of Chinese?

If there were more words, maybe I would be able to fig. it out, so next time you are there and hear things like that, come post on this thread, and I'll see what I can do.

And as well, if you want to hang around here, you're always welcome.

It might help to show that part of the video in a couple different contexts. Like where does this happen in the song? Does it fit with what everyone else is singing? Is this someone talking on a phone? Maybe jack up the volume on those two syllables and reduce the music so we can see if there's a connexion?

As it is, it sounds like someone's saying "roo skeg". Which is not very helpful, I'm sure!
