The word *mara "tree" could have evolved from *ama "plant" with an added *r sound to specify larger plants or trees. Another cool one is *nol "light" possibly coming from *no "to shine" with an added *l for intensity or permanence. And *sipata "drink" might have its roots in *sipa "to sip" with a suffix *-ta indicating the act or result.
