I feel like there should be a CBB wiki

I was thinking of starting a personal wiki for the Lonely Galaxy, then I realized that crawling around meticulously documented lore wikis is my jam. The entirety of my knowledge of Warhammer 40K comes from browsing dedicated fan wikis rather than, ya know, playing the game or buying the models. Anyway, perhaps a general CBB wiki might make sense.

Just putting the idea out there.

Do you mean the "members" section under quick links that shows a list of registered users? I'm not sure what else a directory could offer, or are you referring to a list of active conlang/conworld projects?

My issue with using a forum thread to document a conlang or conworld is that discoverability is difficult. I have to manually update the index on the OP of the LG megathread, and I never bothered to start an index in the Commonthraat thread, so if I want to look up something I posted I have to use the search function, which doesn't differentiate between post titles and post text.

There actually was a CBB wiki back in 2006-2007 or so. But not many people used it, so it was closed down.

Where was that CBB wiki hosted? And was it closed down automatically due to inactivity, or did people decide to close it so that they don't have to (pay to?) host it if it wasn't being used?

It was hosted by me on the same site as the forum. So there was /cbb and /cbbwiki, if I'm not mistaken. I don't recall the details about shutting it down, but in the end, very few people were using it, and those using it regularly for their constuff were even fewer. People were already using FrathWiki and the KneeQuickie back then, so many CBBers never saw the point in moving their things to another wiki, I suppose.

R.I.P. KneeQuickie (although I don't miss the "Spackism" tripe) . . . I'm so glad I saved the Shaja article onto my own computer before KneeQuickie died for good . . . I have it up at FrathWiki now in case anyone wants to evolve daughterlangs from it anymore.
