How did you find out about the CBB?

What can I say? It doesn't fit above, put it here. Also the location of board rules/info.

How did you find out about the CBB?

Post by lurker »

I was trying to wean myself off of Reddit last year, looking for replacements for subreddits I frequented. At the same time, I was looking for a place to post about my recently created monkey foxes. I just googled "worldbuilding forum" and ran into a stack exchange question asking about conlanging/conworlding communities with an answer that linked here. The fact that the CBB focuses on both conlanging and worldbuilding is what drew me in.

I came across a Wikipedia article and learned what a conlang was. Then I found the LCK and the LCS and Conlangery. The CBB was mentioned on the LCS website and in the Conlangery podcast, I think. Then I lurked and created an account.

I looked up conlanging forums I think? I was very happy to find here, as otherwise my hobby was to niche to really talk about with anyone.

I'm pretty sure that was my answer! I'm glad you ended up here!

I honestly don't remember how I found out about the CBB — but I remember that I just couldn't wait for my birthday and created my account a few days early.
Although I did know about the ZBB beforehand (and had things played out differently, I might have found myself over there) – because I had bought the LCK and ALC. And it all started because I stumbled upon a silly little Wikipedia article about a silly little made-up Romance language in 2011...

No idea how I first found it, but it would've been relatively early in my conlanging career. I do remember that I joined the day before my 12th birthday. I must've found it from googling something conlang-related and seeing it in the results.

I found nothing about conlangs on the internet and gave up at some point. After many years, people on gaming forums talked about playing with an in-story language together (collablangs, as we know it), so I decided to do another search, and I found CBB as well as all other conlang websites suddenly started working on my side.
