The Buzmowy
Re: The Buzmowy
Tangent: if these brain crystals can be switched around, why would these bees tolerate the bodiless "dead" ones doing, well, nothing really besides being an overall drain instead of being put to productive work?
Re: The Buzmowy
They aren't a waste they are the culture, history and art. All in perfect memory. Why do we tolerate libraries and a bodiless mind takes less energy then one with a body.
One just isn't enough.

Re: The Buzmowy
Why do they all need to relegated to retellers of stuff, especially if it's really for anything even approaching a hyperbolic forever and the brainless bodies are gonna start stacking up rather quickly? Are there no historians? Is art not even semipermanent; why must a piece of art be told about instead of seen or heard? "Highly intelligent" but no recording equipment? What?
You mentioned a 5-1 ratio. All five bil or so are gonna die too. Now you got six billion dead bodiless guys to take care of a generation later. This doesn't seem very sustainable. A brain in a body can actually do work to get said energy and still be a part of said culture by actively participating in it.

Re: The Buzmowy
I'm sorry but I did say 5 Million to 6 Billion. You mentioned a 5-1 ratio. All five bil or so are gonna die too. Now you got six billion dead bodiless guys to take care of a generation later.
The system when at full speed ahead uses 100 pounds of honey a week a small hive crystal hall . A living Buzmowy consumes 5 times that amount. An entire hive population can produce 50 tons a week. This doesn't seem very sustainable.
Like I said before they communicate through radio waves. Through radio waves anything can be transmitted. Say a bee comes up with an art idea he visualizes it and then if he wants to share it he transmits the thought to those who want to see or hear it. Some times they put it into reality but most of the time it is kept as memories. They don't always go straight to a crystal hall since a crystal can go into hibernation and go with out any input for centuries. Why do they all need to relegated to retellers of stuff, especially if it's really for anything even approaching a hyperbolic forever and the brainless bodies are gonna start stacking up rather quickly? Ok, I've got a shoddy memory. However, that makes it significantly worse.Pe King wrote:I'm sorry but I did say 5 Million to 6 Billion. You mentioned a 5-1 ratio. All five bil or so are gonna die too. Now you got six billion dead bodiless guys to take care of a generation later.
So assuming you've accurately described reasonable consumption and production:The system when at full speed ahead uses 100 pounds of honey a week a small hive crystal hall . A living Buzmowy consumes 5 times that amount. An entire hive population can produce 50 tons a week. This doesn't seem very sustainable.
5 mil x 500 pounds = 250,000,000 is consumed by the living in a week.
6 bil x 100 pounds = 600,000,000,000 tons consumed by the bodiless in a week.
2000 pounds per ton x 50 tons=100,000 pounds, A hive produces 100,000 pounds a week. The number of hives doesn't seem to've been specified, but it can't significantly high enough.
Um, where are these bees really getting their food?
Still doesn't explain why there needs to be 6 billion artist minded brains lying around. Since your economy for all of the living guys means they need to be making food to support these brains, why do the brains seemingly randomly become artist-minded when nobody was before their de-bodying? What exactly goes on in those special holes and what kind of stimuluses can they be getting to inspire art?Like I said before they communicate through radio waves. Through radio waves anything can be transmitted. Say a bee comes up with an art idea he visualizes it and then if he wants to share it he transmits the thought to those who want to see or hear it. When the numbers eventually do get too large, and they will even if you say they aren't now, are they finally gonna start pulling plugs? And why exactly are all those historian brains needed? Also what is the artist-historian ratio ?

Re: The Buzmowy
Whole crystal hall not individual brain. The system when at full speed ahead uses 100 pounds of honey a week a small hive crystal hall .
891796 brains is a small hive. All hives are permanent.
3364 hives in all.
3264 hives are medium-small. Each holding 891,796 brains. Medium producing 120,000 tons of honey. The whole planet is six times the size of earth.
2,910,820,451 brains are used.
3,089,179,549 brains left.
That is divided by the hundred large hives that produce 180,000 tons of honey.
Per a hive the large hives are stuck with 30,891,795 divide that by 891,796 brains. That equals 3463.99798721 pounds of honey per a large hive.
In all do the numbers that is 672,799.798721 pounds of honey globally. That as about 336 tons of honey. 73,920,000 calories.
They are always artists. They are kept in case society forgets something important. And so that family groups can talk to those of the past. Any detail is important. Plus they are technically still living destroying the brains is murder of the worst kind. The Ogmanyou cares for the brains through taxes.Still doesn't explain why there needs to be 6 billion artist minded brains lying around. Since your economy for all of the living guys means they need to be making food to support these brains, why do the brains seemingly randomly become artist-minded when nobody was before their de-bodying?
The society has realized this in the past and was on the verge of anarchy that is twice. Then archeologists found city ruins of humans in the past. They know what caused the great flames and think that humans are on one of the four celestial bodies that pass over during a biannual eclipse. Every year the Buzmowy see it as the Sun god looking down on them to see if they are ready for the appearance of the humans or Grand Creators. When the numbers eventually do get too large, and they will even if you say they aren't now, are they finally gonna start pulling plugs?

Re: The Buzmowy
So where does the rest of the ~599,999,327,200 pounds to feed the brains come from? Or the 250,000,000 to feed the not-brains?In all do the numbers that is 672,799.798721 pounds of honey globally. That as about 336 tons of honey.73,920,000 calories.~672,800 pounds pounds5 mil x 500 pounds = 250,000,000 is consumed by the living in a week.
6 bil x 100 pounds = 600,000,000,000tonspounds consumed by the bodiless in a week.

You haven't answered anything about the historians, or just where the bees get any time to do learn about art much less do anything artsy. Actually, it all kinda becomes moot til you figure out how to feed them all.
Re: The Buzmowy
You aren't getting this it is a hundred pounds of honey per every 891,796 bodiless brains.
When you think about it a globally our world produces 1.5 tons of honey annually. This world with intelligence makes 200 time more honey.
You for a minute made by brain and my calculator hurt mission accomplished.
Roughly there is 415,843,200,000 pounds of honey, 207,921,600 tons produced a year. This is made during a single week of high productivity in the fall. The Buzmowy (with body) being active 3/4 of the year would consume about 116,250,000,000 pounds of honey, 58,125,000 tons. The brains however consume 14,112 tons of honey a year. This leaves 29,956,497,600 pounds left that's 149,782,488 tons. What happens to that extra raw honey it is crystallized and saved for winter and famine.Medium producing 120,000tons of honey/ large hives that produce 180,000 tons honey.

Re: The Buzmowy
How could I've? You used that number to determine how much gets produced, leading me to conclude those consisted of bees who did work.Pe King wrote:You aren't getting this it is a hundred pounds of honey per every 891,796 bodiless brains.
However, going with that: 6 bil / 891,796 brains = ~6728 sets of 891,796 brains.
6728 zombie bee groups X 100 pounds = 672,800 per week .k, all food consumption is by the brains. You still need to feed the not-brains. That 250,000,000 lb per week doesn't seem to've been disputed, so 13,000,000,000 lb annually.
See, there's that ad hocness I mentioned earlier. You should've just posted that to begin with because otherwise you're in a state of pertual famine. I suppose you'll explain why they suddenly get so productive for that one week only...?Medium producing 120,000tons of honey/ large hives that produce 180,000 tons honey.Roughly there is 415,843,200,000 pounds of honey, 207,921,600 tons produced a year. What happens to that extra raw honey it is crystallized and saved for winter and famine.
Also, 672,800 lb per week X 52 weeks = 34,985,600 lb consumed annually. 17,492.8 tons annually, not 14,112.
300 tons only? In a year? Your brains consume more than that in a week. Mercy upon them all. When you think about it a globally our world produces 1.5 tons of honey annually. This world with intelligence makes 200 time more honey.
Re: The Buzmowy
It's fall. It is when the flowers that make nectar are at peak capacity. Yes it is 14,112 tons, they hibernate for 42 weeks of the year. A year being 56 weeks (for this world.) Also that 1.5 tons was supposed to be 1.5 million tons. So that would get us to about
200,000,000
it is 207,921,600

Re: The Buzmowy
See, I'm having a real hard time believing that a single week, particularly it being in fall, can be the peak time of production, not to mention that such a peak production regardless of time is a wut O_O moment.
I wanna see the math for 14,112.

Re: The Buzmowy
It is easy to collect the nectar from a flower the size of a water melon or pumpkin. The nectar can be transported inside a Bozzoo. It can be turned into honey in large vats and store in massive honeycomb. Same process as the normal bees here on a larger scale.See, I'm having a real hard time believing that a single week, particularly it being in fall, can be the peak time of production, not to mention that such a peak production regardless of time is a wut O_O moment.
Ok, so we start with 56×.75(aka 3/4)=42 weeks this is the number of weeks the brains aren't in hibernation for winter. Hold on to thisI wanna see the math for 14,112.
6,000,000,000÷891,796=6727.99608879 servings of 100 pounds of honey.
6727.99608879×100=672799.608879 or 672800pounds of honey a week.
672800×42=28257600
28,257,600÷2000=14128.8
We wanted 14,112 tons of honey we got 14,128.8 tons oops . I was off by 16.8 tons.

I like the Bee People idea. For pets? Probably something bug-like, right? Maybe caterpillars and grubs

I didn't see this back in 2010, but the idea of a sapient species based on bees is compelling! I've seen ants/myrmecoids done before, but never bees/melissoids.

Maybe you could give them a language based on the dances that bees do to alert the hive to sources of nectar.
