So, I have an altworld, that I'm not actively conlanging in, but I do actively conworld in. It focuses on a civilization known as the Yonotaurians, whose main religion is Mikhonism. I set it up early in the creation process that five is a very holy number in Mikhonism.
I then decided that their calendar would align with the Gregorian (by having it be a Julian system, but the high clergy could skip or add a leap year to fix the slippage that comes with the Julian). I also decided that the major festival (Neos Stefanos) would be a spring one, but the New Years would be on the Fall Equinox (9/25 Gregorian). I then decided that since my birthday is in the spring, 3/31 Gregorian, Neos Stefanos would be on that Gregorian date.
I then set up the months' length in the Mikhonic system, and asked ChatGPT to calculate the date of Neos Stefanos (3/31) Gregorian on the Mikhonic calendar. To my utter amazement, given my early decision that five is a holy number in the conreligion, it spit out that Neos Stefanos,3/31 Gregorian, the most important feast, would be on 5/5 Mikhonic! Wow!

Re: Odd coincidences when Conworlding
I've had at least one unintended convergence in the Lonely Galaxy.
There is a meme within the Civilization fandom about immortal leaders, basically if you pick to play as George Washington, he'll be leading his American empire from the beginning of recorded history into the space age. I decided to borrow this concept by having the Partisan leader permenantly sealed inside a suspension capsule so he can never age.
Also, I took some inspiration from North Korea's cult surrounding Kim Il Sung and had a cult develop around the Partisan leader despite the polity being explicitly atheist.
So you have an immortal, tyrannical, incapacitated, atheist leader being worshiped by (some of) his subjects, now where have I heard that before...

Re: Odd coincidences when Conworlding
Well, we do have an example of a dead, arguably atheist, benevolent, philosophical leader being worshipped by some of his followers as a deity IRL, in some strands of Buddhism, so it just seems like an inversion of that.lurker wrote: ↑25 Mar 2025 21:37 I've had at least one unintended convergence in the Lonely Galaxy.

EDIT: I'm not familiar with Warhammer, I'm sorry
EDIT 2: And it's also more likely that Warhammer is playing off Kim Il-Sung (like you were) or Lenin's Mausoleum then making an inverted Buddhism.
