Lexicon milestones and discussion of lexicon growth

I was just faced with the challenge of creating a word for "intercooler". I decided to call it a peshrirtziyimkalangfash, with peshrir being the word for "squeeze; to squeeze" and tziyimkalangfash meaning "heat exchanger".

That's a mouthful, though, so I think in everyday speech Kankonians will call it a pop tzapak, or "P Tz".

I've been doing lots of words prefixed with inter-, which often begin with shuyes (a preposition meaning "across" in Kankonian), or sometimes niwas (a prep. meaning "between"). With the last one, shuyesmoshioyeid, meaning "interethnic", (moshioyeid means "ethnic group", I have reached 99,925 words in Kankonian. https://www.frathwiki.com/Conlangs_with ... ,000_words can be updated now.

I was just faced with doing a word for "intermezzo" or "palate cleanser". (Hmmm, I didn't already have a word for "palate cleanser".) I called it a gegeadara, or "back-to-neutral".

Word #99,940 was "internetwork", defined on Wiktionary as "a network of networks". I made the word for this audes*esukoi, adding to *esukoi (network) the prefix audes-, which is equivalent to meta-.

I had to create a word for "interoception", and, with it, "exteroception". Using the Ciladian roots kis (inside), ut (outside), and til (sense; to sense), I created kistil for "interoception" and uttil for "exteroception". Then came kistili (interoceptive), uttili (exteroceptive), kistilt*igos (interoceptor), and uttilt*igos (exteroceptor) -- the last two built with t*igos, the Kankonian word for "receptor". With uttilt*igos, I reached the 99,950 mark! Time to update FrathWiki.

Did the words "to interpellate" and "interpellation". I coined kashosseteik, from kashos (mind) and seteik (label).

A few noteworthy words:

Took a long time figuring out what an interstem was. Finally coined the word bamadgrurghar, from bam (two) and adgrurghar (rootstock).

Created the words for "intertextuality" (kekhkis) and "intertextual" (kekhkisi). Kekhkis sort of rhymes with "Khemehekis".

With heduskfash (intervener), reached word #99,975. Time to update FrathWiki again!

Finally got out of the woods that were all those pesky inter- words, with "interwiki" (already had "interzone"). Just added Intiwatana (Intihuatana, an obvious Quechua borrowing). I'm at 99,980 words now and it's just after 8 p.m. in California. I'm going to take a restroom break.

I just created words for "intermural" (as in intermural sports) and "intramural" (as in intramural sports): shuyeswani and mokhaswani respectively. (Wani means "institution", shuyes means "across", and mokhass means "within").

I am now at 99,990 words. I am only TEN words away from the big one-O-O-O-O-O. Follow me closely!

Also, I want more commenting from all of you! Arayaz is the only one who's commented so far on the Sprint to 100K.

Try this sexy word on for size. Usakhushlufab means "intravaginal ejaculation latency time", or "IELT". It comes from us-, a suffix for verbs denoting release of bodily functions; sakhu, the word for semen, and shlufab, meaning lag.

99,997 words! Even closer! I want to hear everyone reading this right now scream with joy!

A repdigit milestone: netzithtzini, meaning "introducer (surgical instrument)". Word #99,999! It comes from netzith (to insert; insertion) and tzini (device). Only one word away from being tied with Mmavvii!

Well, it happened. I tweaked somigos (introspection) to create soumoigz, a verb meaning "to introspect".

Kankonian is now at 100,000 words! Tied with Mmavvii! Woo-hoo!

At 8:49 p.m., I added the word bakotzios, meaning "intrusiveness", to Kankonian. It wasn't a remarkable word; just the abstract noun suffix -os added onto the adjective bakotzi (intrusive).

With this, Kankonian surpasses Mmavvii's 100,000 to become the largest-lexiconed conlang known to Man.
