Been toying with creating a sword and planet setting. Idk the details yet, but aside from some lost technology, the societies on this planet will be at least pre-industrial if not medieval. I want the natives of the planet to be close enough to human that a human from earth could understand and speak their language, even if it might still have a few odd features from the perspective of us humans.

A science fiction or fantasy subgenre, now out of fashion, about adventures on an alien planet with a low-tech society, such as the Barsoom novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

I think I've heard it called "planetary romance" or at least that's what TV Tropes calls it. There's a bit of inspiration in the LG from CS Lewis's Space Trilogy, which is a planetary romance, at least for the first two books. Sweetwater's raft islands are inspired by a similar feature on Venus in the second book.

Question: Will there be Terran humans visiting this planet?

Yes; I think "sword and planet" and "planetary romance" refer more or less to the same genre, and "planetary romance" is more common.

There will be at least one. Idk, if Terrans are aware of the planet's existence, but I plan for the MC to crahsland there

I had an idea for a cool twist on the dragon rider trope where the dragons are secretly intelligent and planning a rebellion.
